Nelson Mandela is well known for his long fight against the terrible government and racial prejudice. He became a role model to people all over the world. As South Africa's President, he was respected for his courage and wisdom in bringing people together to live in peace.
Mandela’s transformational leadership is shown throughout his bravery when having encouragement for the South African people in regard to fighting for their national freedom. He was democratic as he had the capability of a leader to encourage followers so that they be committed to a common objective and task. As a result of this, Mandela was the source of confidence for the people of South Africa, especially during the great fight for freedom. He encountered imprisonment for 27 years by the South African government. His crime was standing up against the government which was committing awful human right abuses against black South Africans. Although he was released from prison in 1990 and went on to lead in order to remove discrimination in 1994. Mandela overcame this problem by being elected as South Africa's first black president the same year. During his time as South Africa’s first black president he encouraged many. Based on the issues that he faced and all the setbacks he overcame, he can be an example for everyone who might be discouraged in their challenges that they face in their lives
