Nelson Mandela Quote

Nelson Mandela once said that “There is no passion to be found playing small - in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.” Although, Nelson Mandela isn’t an actor and doesn’t even have anything to do with the show business he still is an inspiration to many. I relate to this quote in many ways; one way I relate to this quote is that I feel that anyone can accomplish what they want if they try harder. Also, people shouldn’t see themselves as less then what they are, rather they should see themselves as greater. By auditioning for DSA I feel like I am not going to settle with where I am, instead I want to become a greater, stronger, and more intellectual person. If acting is merely pretending to be someone else then anyone can do it. Acting is becoming another person and using real life feelings to truly embody a certain character. In order to act you must truly feel what the character is feeling. Many people have sources of expressing their emotions, mine is acting. Every emotion I have ever felt becomes someone else. People usually talk to other individuals about their sorrow, love, hatred, or even happiness; now I am not denying that I don’t do this but I do this in a different way. All of these emotions are expressed through acting. This is why I have a true passion for acting. An analogy that I use to express my passion for acting is that acting is my therapy. I want to attend DSA so that I can convey my emotions into characters and genuinely become them. I feel a certain rush of energy, a rush that I only feel when I act. As a result of becoming a part of the DSA community I know that my devotion and dedication towards theater will help be succeed. Not only the fact that I adore the creative bridge of theater, also enjoy Denver School of the Arts way of fusing arts and education into one

But what we all can learn is that acting is way more then that. Acting is knowing that you can be anything in this whole entire universe even if this universe sees you as a nobody. I feel like everyday in this class I have a little bit more about myself.…

Atticus is a lawyer who helps a colored man in a case his name is Tom Robinson he knows that he should at least try to help. In the story, Lee shows readers how Atticus thinks about other people and that he stands up for what he believes when she wrote, “‘Simply because we were licked a hundred years before we started is no reason for us not to try to win’” (Lee 101). The quote tells us that Atticus is not going to give up the fight and that he is going to take every chance he can to win the battles he wants and to stand for what he believes. One person that went beyond the horizon of deep quality acting was Daniel Breaker. Breaker played Mark Stewart as a young man traveling the world in search of “the real.” In this musical, the youth’s acting portrays his idea that art to is to be considered more real than life. I would have to disagree with conviction from the justification that life is the infrastructure that art is built on. I believe that “The Real,” is the appreciation of what life is.…

Civil Disobedience Slavery and war have been known to be around for many years. Henry David Thoreau, author of the book Walden and “Civil Disobedience”, wrote “There are thousands who are in opinion opposed to slavery and to the war, who yet in effect do nothing to put an end to them” (Thoreau 270) My interpretation of Thoreau’s quote is that there are many people that disagree with slavery and war, but do nothing to stop it. There are large numbers of people in this world who want to end slavery or want to stop wars. There are also people who want to take a stand and say something, but don't have a solution in how to end it.…

With an abundance of new characters in “When Calls the Heart” this season, sometimes only the most observant viewers might notice the handful of smaller roles that pop up now and then on the show. I was immeasurably excited when I finally figured out who the character Katie Yost was, and once I connected with the actress who portrays her, Larissa Albequerque, I knew at once that I wanted to find out more about this young actress. Thankfully, she was able to set aside some time recently to chat about WCTH as well as give insight into the occasionally overlooked Katie Yost. What inspired you to become an actress?
