How people get their words to flow, will always be a mystery to me. I have a goal to become the best writer that I possibly can. I believe with the right education and the correct guidance, I can achieve that goal. Even though I do love to read and write in my spare time, writing is definitely not my strong suit. I would love to improve my skills to better my reading and writing. I love to expand my knowledge as much as I can. I enjoy writing letters to people to let them know I am thinking about them. Writing would never be called my passion; however, if the topic of interest is thought-provoking, writing can be pleasurable. I have always been exceedingly critical of my writing, and I have a bad habit of producing your standard “five paragraph with five sentences” essay. High school was the true test of my writing skills, mainly because I had to take the ACT and SAT with writing if I wanted to get into the only Georgia school that I thought was up to par with my standards: The University of Georgia. Even though my teachers have considered me to be an acceptable writer, I have always considered myself rather subpar. I believe that I have the potential to be a good writer, as I wrote a seven-page research paper on the way children are becoming more intelligent with the use of the internet, as they have the ability to look up an answer to a question they do not know anytime of the day. I had an easy time writing the paper because we went over everything that needed to be in it beginning with an attention grabbing thesis and ending with a powerful conclusion. I flew through writing the paper, which made me confident that I was going to get a good grade (and I did), it made me feel that I had improved my writing abilities. I also had to write an analytical paper comparing Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein to a modern day problem in society. It was more difficult to write compared to the research paper because I had to compare it to a difficult read.…

My ultimate goal is to eliminate bias in the media, but for now I am satisfied as long as I attain a job that includes writing. Throughout my life, I seized several opportunities to turn one hobby into my future. At the age of eight, I mostly cared about about three things: High School Musical, what was for dinner, and journalism.
