It just depends on how the sender decides to send the message. The components of nonverbal communication, eye contact, facial expression, posture, arm and hand gestures as well as head position are extremely vital, ("Nonverbal Communication Says A Lot”, 2015).
For example, with the use of body language it can be easy to “look” or seem a certain way while sending a message of complete opposite meaning. If the sender of the message is telling the receiver about a box full of fluffy puppies that are for sale with a tense body, monotone tone of voice and repetitive movements, it may tell the receiver that the sender is annoyed or even angered about the box of fluffy puppies. In the same scenario, if the sender tells the receiver about the box of puppies with a smile on their face, an upbeat tone to their voice and a relaxed stance, the receiver may get the message that the sender is happy or excited. In reality for both situations, the sender may or may not feel those emotions; however, because of the demonstrated communication when sending the message, the message may have been received incorrectly. Probably one of the biggest keys in making the communication process effective is by altering the tone of voice to match the message being sent. The awareness of body language is also a large factor in the effectiveness of communications. If a person sitting in a relaxed position and seemingly calm sends a message with a loud and boisterous voice, the message may be received as if the person is showing anger or aggression.
