How Does Technology Affect Our Culture

There are many positives and negatives that come with the progress and changes in the world. Some may argue for or against the changes in wireless media or how popular social media has become. There is no doubt that these things have influenced nearly every aspect of our lives and has changed how we do things day to day. I will not argue that these developments in technology and their impact on our culture have not changed how we think, because it definitely has. I feel there is a positive for every negative in this new technological age. They have made certain things convenient for us but in turn have drastically changed the process of others. I often buy things in bulk online to lighten my load in grocery shopping; I also shop online for specific items that might be hard to come by in a store near me. Again, it comes down to how convenient the internet has made things for us, especially those that are very busy. Another advantage is the varieties of things are much larger than physical stores. The biggest pro to online shopping for me and I imagine many others, is reading the reviews of an item to find out if it is worth the buy; you sure cannot test out a juicer in the middle of Walmart before you buy it. You can however read personal experiences online before you invest in a product. With this incline of online buying comes the struggle for physical standing stores, especially smaller chains and local businesses. More people buying from home make the need for clerks and cashiers fewer causing a decline in employment.
