Benefits of Donating Blood Every two seconds someone in the U.S. is in need of a blood transfusion. Just one donation can save up to three lives, provide information for researching cures of certain life threatening diseases. Those diseases included but not limited are diabetes, cancer, heart disease, arthritis, and hemophilia disease. Although donating blood may seem like it is depleting nutrients and proteins from your body, it is actually benefiting you and those receiving your blood.
