Should Housewives Get Paid? Housewives are one the hardest jobs in the world. Stay at home mothers work every day; they work more hours than the working people. They have so many chores to do like cleaning, cooking, doing laundry, and many other hard chores. The work that they do is magnificent and remarkable. Other people will argue that is not necessary to give money to housewives because they are staying at home all day. However, housewives should get paid because they are doing a hard job and they deserve it. The brakes and rest for a stay home mother is little to non-existent, because the house and children need to be taken care of twenty four hours a day. The article “Appreciate the sacrifice and contribution of housewives” (2014) the author states that staying at home mother do not have any day to take for herself. The only way that they can leave is if the husband decided to go to a holiday with the children, even if stay at home mothers want to a holiday they still do the role of the mother. Sick leave for a mother is very difficult especially if any other member of the family is sick the mother has to still do all of her jobs. When there is an illness in a house the mother should do extra cleaning so they can all fight the illness so her job is even more important than her sick leave. Rao (2013) writes in his article “Should housewives be paid salaries?” that staying at home mothers must not receive salary because the responsibility of the chores that they do is private. It may be true that housewives must not get paid for their services. However, people should realize that housewives are doing a job, personal or not there is labor involved. Likewise, it is important to remember that housewives are working every day, and every hour without any breaks that they can relax. Housewives can help their family if they get paid or put their money into insurance, save it for the future and use it if needed. To conclude, stay at home mothers must receive salary because they are not doing an easy job and they are entitled to it. Housewives are doing many chores without any help. Also, staying at home mothers do not have any holiday that they can go. Staying at home mothers should get paid because it is not easy being a housewife where they do all the cleaning, cooking, and all other house chores. Not to mention taking care of children. Being a housewife is the most difficult job in the world. Running a house is like running a company, long thankless hours without being rewarded and taking care of other
