The brakes and rest for a stay home mother is little to non-existent, because the house and children need to be taken care of twenty four hours a day. The article “Appreciate the sacrifice and contribution of housewives” (2014) the author states that staying at home mother do not have any day to take for herself. The only way that they can leave is if the husband decided to go to a holiday with the children, even if stay at home mothers want to a holiday they still do the role of the mother. Sick leave for a mother is very difficult especially if any other member of the family is sick the mother has to still do all of her jobs. When there is an illness in a house the mother should do extra cleaning so they can all fight the illness so her job is even more important than her sick leave. It may be true that housewives must not get paid for their services. However, people should realize that housewives are doing a job, personal or not there is labor involved. Likewise, it is important to remember that housewives are working every day, and every hour without any breaks that they can relax. Housewives can help their family if they get paid or put their money into insurance, save it for the future and use it if needed.
