Obesity is a product from energy imbalance; it has become a major issue affecting citizen globally, especially in the United States. Over two-thirds of the population in the United States are overweight and one-third of the population is obese. Anatomy requires an unquestionable about of energy from food in order to keep life functions. The body will remain constant to the amount of calories the body burns but if more calories are intake than the ones burn, it will no longer remain equal which pushes to weight gain and obesity. There is a lot of circumstances that lead to not having energy imbalance such as eating habits, emotions, locations, income and genes. Citizen living in poverty finds it discouraging to be physically active. Poor citizen are less likely to join health clubs, providing food on the table is their main focus and even that is a big problem for poor individual. Having little income discourage them from buying healthy food which lead to be exposure of high-energy food and poor nutrients. In order to be exposure to healthy food one might have to take several trips on a public transportation such as buses and trains to get to a supermarket which is why poors navigate to cheap food such as snack food and fast food at neighbor stores. So all the risks factors associated with poverty and obesity has been deleted. The government provided resident with low-income with food stamps which helps them to adopt to the healthy behaviors. Low-income resident are no longer have limited access to a healthy product all the neighborhood have full access to store grocery and market so residents can buy health products such as fruit, vegetable and low-fat dairy product. The government has done their part to prevent the epidemic but it is up to the citizen to choose which direction to go because yes we still have the local store and the corner store next to the market and store grocery but now we have chooses whenever to choose to living a healthy or unhealthy lifestyles.
