"Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it." (George Santayana). There is endless knowledge in the world, from the living and in the books of the dead. This world becomes so much larger once one opens their minds to the information discovered by the past. It is so important that we as society understands that such wisdom is out there. Everyday we are living in the past instead of advancing forward, because we are stuck repeating mistakes that have already been made. In this modern world the biggest mistake we face is making mistakes. So many lives have lived before us that everyone is going through something that somebody has once overcame, yet we refuse to look for the wisdom of those who have overcame. This relates

It is well-known fact that this planet changes unpredictably and profoundly. There are little precautions to be taken in order to prevent any natural danger that may arise. As for the current alleged issue of Global Warming, well if the predictions for it are true there isn’t much to do. There are endless possibilities as to why the earth would heat, “ Rising CO2 levels increase plant growth and make plants more resistant to drought and pests” (100 reasons why global warming is natural, Meredith). To just assume that any rise in climate temperature is a negative change, and that it is because of human action is completely ignorant. It is well known that this planet will go through phases of dramatic weather changes to balance its climate. The earth changes in these ways in order to survive, to keep its environment healthy for the long run. If global warming is really happening it is because the world needs the change in order to survive, and the change is happening on its own. Perhaps humanity has contributed to the heating of the planet, but if anything our actions were only the catalyst of the situation. Whatever phase the earth is going through there are no preventative lengths we can go to, this force is one much greater than our

Implementation of climate engineering would support global mitigation and adaptation processes aimed at slowing climate change. It is widely accepted that climate engineering is not to be an alternative to climate change mitigation. Processes used would temporarily cut back greenhouse gas effects, or quickly slow planetary warming. Little testing has been done to completely justify the implementation of most proposals, making the future of this field full of…

With the ice caps melting, and the planet’s ozone layer depleting, mankind could be driving the Earth to extinction. The study of the earth and how it works allows scientists to develop new ways to try to save the Earth. While many debate the existence of climate change, it is a very real thing causing harm to our planet. The use of fossil fuels, and the development of new alternative energy sources could be the solution. Climate Change One of the biggest factors changing our earth is global warming.…

Global warming is still considered a controversial topic in modern politics. More people believe that global warming is real but aren 't worried about the immediate threat it imposes. Conservatives believe that changes in global temperature is naturally proven by examples like the Ice Age. They believe that there is no evidence that human beings are causing climate change. Liberals, however, believe the opposite.…

We need energy for everything; to stay sheltered, keep warm, refrigerate food, and to drive ourselves from place to place. But it seems that we humans do not understand what all this overflow of energy is doing to our planet. All the carbon dioxide and other gases we emit into the air are causing climate change. And this may not seem like a big deal to some people, but if we do not do something about it, it will become a big deal. This change in climate is the reason for all the droughts that have been occurring.…

As discussed earlier, global warming is damaging the ozone layer and the sunlight is coming directly into the world. The ozone layer protected the human kind because the direct and scorching sun rays can cause skin cancer and other problems. This shows that the global warming is a serious threat to the lives of the people living on the earth. (Kahn) “The gathering risks of climate change are so profound that they could stall or even reverse generations of progress against poverty and hunger if greenhouse emissions continue at a runaway pace, according to a major new United Nations report.” (GILLIS) The countries are making progress according to their infrastructure and this is the reason that global warming is affecting the economic sector at a large scale. The major risk that the global warming is causing is that the people have to change their lifestyle and this is a serious threat the people are doing business, according to the climate and the climate change can be very serious to the lives of those people.…

In the essay “Science says revolt!” by Naomi Klein the significant action for climate change that she is calling for is revolutionary because in her perspective global capitalism is the root of the climate change problem. The dismantling of capitalism would be destructive to the world that we know now. Without knowing what significant action that Craven is calling for, other than just some action towards combating climate change, it is impossible to make and educated and well informed decision about it. Oversimplifying a complicated issue in order to make a decision about should not be the way in which we solve it, so discussing climate change in the terms of risks and risk management is just not feasible without knowing what kind of actions that would be taken. Decisions should not be made by guessing what our…

Climate Change The issues of climate change and global warming have began increasing at an exceptionally alarming rate. Many people believe that this has become a major problem in today’s world, but nothing is being done to stop it. Industrial companies have been led to believe that climate change does not exist and is not a threat rather than change their ways to accommodate our planet. Other countries believe that the climate change is not within our control. The disregard for how our actions are impacting the earth, the misuse of fossil fuels, and industrialization are affecting the environment and are directly contributing to climate change.…

I think because we had such a non-bias presentation, we let it up to the induvial people to decide there opinion. We did a poll before we did the presentation and then one after; the two couldn 't have been any different. It went from most people agreeing that global warming was a threat to most people believe that it was a hoax. Many people agreed with that its still important to care for the environment but disagreed with the fact that global warming is a big threat. Since global warming has unreliable data to prove that the earth is heating up, people realize that could be political and mediated hoax.…

A terrifying implication of this fact is that we may have already caused too much irreversible harm to the climate, because the heating of the oceans will have a heating effect on the atmosphere, potentially, for hundreds of years. This means that actions of the present generation are not felt until future generations. This, in turn, means that any actions taken to reduce global warming will not be felt by the generation applying and funding these corrective actions. This poses some intriguing and difficult questions. Why should the current generation incur the costs for the well-being of future generations?…
