The sun and its rays can be just as harmful as it is beneficial. Sunlight is needed for Vitamin D and energy, but the sun also produces Ultraviolet-A (UVA) and Ultraviolet-B (UVB) rays that can harm the body. Even though the sun’s rays can do damage to the body, many Americans choose to tan. According to skincancer.org, nearly 30 million Americans choose to tan indoors with the use of tanning beds.
