For obvious reasons, the eye is an extremely important and essential part of our bodies. It is not something that can be regenerated if something happens to the first pair, so we need to be extremely careful to take care of and protect our eyes as much as we can. There are many ocular dangers that can occur from tanning beds, and currently not enough exposure about them. More should be done to let people know of the dangers and encourage them to protect their eyes. The purpose is not to take away from the seriousness of skin cancers caused by tanning beds, but rather to show that there are more risks to be aware of than just within the…

With more tanning salons in the state of Florida than McDonald's, CVS stores, or Bank of America branches, indoor tanning has become a serious problem everywhere (Tavernise A16). A tan is the skin’s response to UV light damage but still, many long for golden skin (“That Not So Healthy Glow”). Tanning is not an issue secluded to adults. Every year, 1.6 million American minors tan in tanning beds and of those who tan, more than half of them have tanned over ten times in that year (Tavernise A16). Even though there are large health risks, only 40 states have restrictions and only 11 of those states have full under-18 bans (Tavernise A16).…

Skin Cancer has got to be one of the biggest health issues we are facing today 2 in 3 Australians will be diagnosed with it by seventy, more than 2000 Australians die from it every year; skin cancer is the biggest problem for Australia and new Zealanders which have the biggest fatalities and diagnosis out of any other country or constant. This is occurring because of the harsh UV rays created by the sun that Australians simply can’t escape without the proper protection against it, this is why it is important that we know the proper treatment and preventions of skin cancer. The tanning bed has many dangers and I am not a huge fan due to all the dangerous effects of it. The CDC states that “A tan is the body’s response to injury from UV rays. A base tan does little to protect you from future damage to your skin cause by UV exposure” (“Indoor Tanning Is Not Safe”).…
