Schools cannot ensure every family that they will be able to resolve all cases therefore they should not gain any authority. Schools shouldn’t have the authority to handle cyber bullying cases, but instead they should have authority to help prevent cyberbullying through programs or presentations. A schoolhouse’s duty is to instruct their children and prevent any disruptions, such as verbal dispute, during the educational hours (Willard 1). Through Willard we can better grasp the fact that school is for learning and any disputes must be eliminated. Both schools and parents have an important role in stopping and handling cyberbullying cases. A school’s role should be to create prevention and a firm education of cyberbullying, rather than taking full authority of the cases. Furthermore, parents carry a stronger emotional connection and relationship with their children, which can affect a child’s life dramatically. In this relationship, parents can influence a child in positive way by protecting them and helping them understand that someone is always there for them. Parents have to talk with their children and view situations from their eyes. They should be open to hearing their child’s issues rather than rejecting these issues (Kouri 1). Through this idea presented by Kouri, we can better grasp that children just need someone to talk to; parents can be that person, as long as they are open minded and present themselves in a loving manner. Children long for that person who they can tell all their issues and worries to, allowing parents to have authority over cyberbullying cases will help children have a strong tower on which they can lean on, in times of need. Parents can provide the love and security that a child lost, as a result of bullying. A child needs to experience affection and security from their parents and parents must tell their child there is no flaw in themselves but instead in the bully (Kervorkian 1). Though teachers can exhibit the same kind of love, not all teachers want a relationship with student.
