These days every teenagers owns a smartphone and is using Social Media. They are the largest group of smartphone and social media users in the world. When you do not own a smarphone and don’t have an account on facebook, twitter or any other social media you will fall out of the group. You’ll miss things that are said on social media wich results in the fact that you cannot talk with your friends about that.
Some teenagers are even addicted to there phone and the use of social media. The use of smartphones and social media does have more of this negative impact on teenagers. They will be discussed in this paper.

Every fifteen minutes they are studying, they are only two or three minutes actually focused on their studies. The rest of the time they keep an eye on their smartphones in case they’ll get a message. On average, they get lower grades then those who are less active on social networks.
According to the research Larry Rosen did, teenagers are sending on average 2000 messages in a month. This excess of information leads, according to Larry Rosen, to sleeping an concentration problems and stress.
Danger in traffic
The second argument about why smartphones and social media do have bad influences on teenagers is about the danger they cause in traffic. Teenagers don’t think it is important to watch the road when they are riding their bikes or driving a car. They are still using their phone while participating in traffic.
A research the goverment did, told us that one in five bicycle accidents, in wich a teenagers is involved, smartphone use plays a role. The research told that one in three teenagers is very busy using their smartphone.
