Growing up in a single-parent home can lack the right amount of rules needing to have enforced. If the parent away at work frequently, they don’t have as much supervision over their children as they would like. The children start to feel free and can want to break some rules. “With single parenting, it can be challenging to reinforce as many rules due to a lack of support from your partner. Kids may begin to misbehave at school or can become rebellious during their teenage years.”(Source 4) This shows one way kids will start to deal with not having the supervision and rules. Some kids deal with their pain of not having both parents differently. They might start getting into drugs or alcohol once they get into high school. This can lead into adulthood, ruining their life where they may even get into illegal activity. Some children who don’t get the support and attention they need, can lead them to serious life choices that could kill them or ruin their life forever. As long as single parents show their children attention and enforce rules that should be enforced when they can, there should be no worries of this
