Negatives Of Religion

Many people have a religion they follow. People follow a religion for many different reasons. You may know some very religious people who like to talk about their savior. However, what many people do not know is how following a religion can have its negatives effects on them and the views towards society. Not knowing everything about the religion you follow could cause confusion for some people. Many people don’t know that religion can be hateful towards minority groups, uses fear to gain power and could control someone's thought. Many people have a religion. One way some religions restrict thought is with the theory of evolution. According to Joseph Lui, a writer for the Pew Research Center, the U.S. Supreme Court issued a number of decisions that imposed severe restrictions on those state governments that opposed the teaching of evolution (n.pag). Schools were no longer allow to teach about evolution unless they were going to teach creation as well. Many religions you are taught against religion. For example, if you are a catholic, you will be taught that God is the creator of everything. If you believe in evolution you are not true to your faith. Another way that some religions don’t like you thinking about alternative religions is when it comes to death. They believe going to church will help strengthen their relationships with him. second ly, religion could bring security to someone's life.
