As much as consumers blame the Processed Food companies for their families gaining weight, they also contribute to the weight gain of themselves and their children. “[P]eople buy what they like, and they like what tastes good,” (Moss 3). This is no lie, it is completely the truth. If a random person was picked off of the street and they were given the choice between a salad or a bag of chips the chances of this person choosing the salad would be very small. Another reason processed food is contributing to obesity is because it is so cheap and easy to make, or are already made.…

However, a higher amount of processed foods are ones that need to be eaten less instead of eating a lot of it. In my opinion, I would agree with the author Michael Pollan because processed foods have been known to cause diabetes and obesity. An example of why people should avoid processed foods and eat organic foods is when Pollan states, “People eating a “Western Diet” are prone to chronic diseases that seldom strike people eating more traditional diets. ”(421) The author explains in this quote that eating processed foods excessively or regularly can lead to suffering from chronic diseases that people who eat organic foods do not suffer from. Another example, is when author Michael Pollan states, “In theory, nothing could be simpler: To escape the Western diet and the ideology of nutritionism, we have only to stop eating and thinking that way.…
