Taxpayers across the nation pick up the bill by paying for the medical care of victims on medicaid and pay for funding law enforcement as well as the criminal justice system. It is worth noting that all of the stats noted by economists only take account of fatal mass shootings. Non fatal mass shootings are sometimes more expensive for taxpayers than fatal shootings.
