Marijuana causes many problems with the brain such as memory loss. Studies show that chronic users of the drug have had cannabinoid receptors in there brain being damaged from marijuana. These receptors are part of your neural communication system, and play an important role in your brain development and function. Along with memory loss, the drug also causes a slower reaction in the abuser. When using marijuana you are 2x more as likely to get in a car accident then you would be without using the drug. With a slower reaction you would take more time on solving problems. For example if you were jogging and suddenly see a car the average person would hurry and run away, but chronic marijuana users would have taken a longer time and possibly gotten hit. …show more content…
More teens everyday are getting treated for marijuana abuse then any other illegal drug. Multiple studies have shown that teens are 3x more likely to get treatment for the drug than alcohol, and 6x more likely to get treatment for it then all other illegal drugs combined. Overall there are more negative affects from using marijuana then positive ones. If we legalize marijuana more kids are going to get access to the drug causing more accidents and deaths through our
