A person with power should be a person that has been trained to be able to handle it. You do not want a person with power to act like they don’t need to do anything. Power has a negative effect because it can make you seem frightening and can also cause you to become selfish.
Power has a negative effect because it can make you seem scary. In the reading Antigone, power having a negative effect is present. For example, in Antigone the Sentry is afraid of the king, Creon. The Sentry needed to tell Creon about the crime that had happened. But, the Sentry couldn’t decide who should tell him. They were all petrified of what could happen to them if Creon became furious. The power that Creon held made the Sentry and other people to be afraid of him.

When you have power, you can become self-centered. For example, since you have power, you might think that you do not have to work as hard. You can make the others work harder while you become indolent. Just because you have power and people that do whatever you tell them to do, you shouldn’t become a lazy leader. If you have power you’ll feel satisfied. Power affects you negatively because it can cause you to become lazy and not a hard working leader.
Once a person is given power, they could start to have some flaws in the way they use it. Therefore, a person with power should be a person that knows how to handle it and that will not abuse their
