Negative Aspects Of Being Black Essay

I feel that being black has some negative aspects like racism, discrimination, judgment, and segregation, but it also has positive aspects like our unique culture, identity, and ethnicity. “The definition of a being black person is a person with dark skin who come from or whose ancestors came from Africa” (The free dictionary). Being black is someone of African ancestry. I feel that being black is an overall excellent quality because it makes us who we are as people in this type of society. Being black can also come with being hated or not being liked because of the color of your skin. “The definition of racism is a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race” (Merriam-Webster). I feel like racism is one of the biggest issues that people avoid and try to get past. No matter how hard we try to ignore it, we just cannot because it is not something that is going to go away easily. “Yet the concepts of “race” and “racism” are modern inventions. They rose and became part of the dominant ideology of society in the context of the African Slave trade at the dawn of Capitalism in the 1500s and 1600s” Selfa (Slavery). It basically talks about how racism originated from the slave trade that the Europeans did in the 1500s and 1600s. I feel that some people pretend not to be racist, but they really are in the secret place of their homes. The reason why I feel some people are racist and part of the racism culture is that some of these people are a part of the this hate group known as the Ku Klux Klan known as the (KKK). The KKK was a terrorist/cult group who hated blacks and African-American and threatened to wipe out their race by
