Negative Advertising For Candidates

Negative Advertising has been one of the main techniques that candidates use to encourage voters to elect them into office. Over the years negative advertising has started to be used more often through every election. The question is whether Negative Advertising works or not. Do some people support negative advertising and believe it helps candidates get elected? The truth is that even though it may work and get candidates’ votes, it does not mean that it could not turn into a candidate’s enemy and cost them voters that they already had.

Over the past few elections, negative advertising has become a more popular tactic during elections. Wesleyan University has run a study since 1998 tracking how much of federal advertising has been negative.
