Nebular Hypothesis Vs. Six-Day Creation

Superior Essays
I. Introduction:
In this paper we are going to be talking about the differences in Nebular Hypothesis vs. Six- day creation. We will be comparing the old earth and the young earth viewpoints on the topic of Nebular Hypothesis vs. Six-day creation. The purpose of doing this is to see how much our earth has changed and if we can understand what has happened has happened. We are going to look in to why and how they are different or not. As well as explain each creation of the earth in Nebular Hypothesis vs. Six-day creation in the old-Earth and the Young-Earth.
II. Old Earth secular view:
When looking at the Old-Earths secular viewpoint for this essay it is Nebular Hypothesis. During the find and research of this viewpoint of Nebular Hypothesis we find that there is a cloud of gas and that dust collapsed and gravity begins to spin faster and faster. This is due to the angular momentum conservation (Origin of the Solar system, n.d.). Therefore, this cloud (nebular hypothesis) says the earth, plants, moon and the sun were formed. “The truth is that we don’t understand star formation at a fundamental level” (M. Chown, Feb. 1998). It has been said that the time of this all happening would have taken at least 100 million years ago. So due to the time that this takes, Old-Earths view will be the view of the Young-Earths view. The most significant way to explain this is still Psalm 33:6 and that is “By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and by the breath of his mouth all their host” (Psalm 33:6). III. Young Earth view: When it comes to looking at the Young-Earth viewpoint you it seems to more on the side of the Lords view. It all starts with Genesis 1-11 in the Bible. This is all believed to of happened after Noah’s Flood “one of the most universal geological features is the Great Unconformity” (The heavens & The Earth, ch.7, 2015). With Young-Earths view on the six-day creation it all about how God came back and wiped the earth of its evilness and started over. We believe that God is the creator of all things. Therefore, young-earth believe that the world was created in six twenty-four hour days by our Lord. The Old- Earth and Young-Earth really only have one thing in comparison and that is the view point on the solar system. IV. Comparison of the viewpoints: The comparison of the two viewpoints are that they are both trying to find an answer as to why, what happens on earth, and how it all got started. They are both trying to find a common ground but in the long one there is not one. They are both wanting answers and they

Old earth try’s explaining that the days are too long and in a geological time period more like the big bang theory. Then Young earth is the biblical view of how God is our creator. To me the comparison is nature vs. nurture. "Christians believe God has two books through which He reveals himself," generally to everyone in the book of nature, and specifically to Christians in the book of Scripture. Both are God's word, and both proclaim the same truth, so reconciling them should not be a problem” (Jay Richards, 2015). They also started in two different time periods as

The Young Earth creationism view will show Biblical support, along with evidence dating and theologian James Ussher’s important key points. Genesis goes through the creation of the world where God created everything in prefect harmony, and there was no death for all of creation and after the fall of humanity, which brought death to both mankind, and all the animals of the earth. Genesis 5 through 9 covers the great flood, which is recognized to…

Evolutionary Creationism is a belief that God created the universe and all life including our surroundings through evolution. We have an old Earth that is 4.6 billion years old. When God was creating the Earth, the seven days weren't made up of our twenty-four hour days. The time he spent was consisted of what we know now as years. This took up a lot of time as well as the many years in between each event in the Bible.…

Week One Devotional Psa 111:2 (KJV), "The works of the LORD, are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein." Our devotional begins with whom all things begin and that is God. Not only is God creator of all things, visible and invisible, but He is the one who holds everything together. He holds all things together as He has placed them, and they function as He has purposed them to do so. The moon, the sun, the stars, the universe, the entire solar system including the earth are all held together and consist by Him and for Him (Col 1:17 KJV).…

The existence of the Kuiper Belt was hypothesized by Gerard Kuiper in 1951. Kuiper described an expanse of icy space material beyond Neptune as the only explanation for short-lived comets. However, that anomaly was not the sole phenomenon the Kuiper Belt and its contents helped explain. The Kuiper Belt’s primordial origins have established it as one of the most helpful tools to aid in learning more about the solar system’s beginning. Its existence debunks the original theory of the belt’s formation, consequently given way to the conjecture predicting a shuffling of the planets resulting in their current placement.…

Hayy developed a cosmology to portray how he understood the world through the use of observation, speculation, and comparison, without it he would have never discovered how interconnected the universe was. Hayy understands the world in a way that is similar to Copernicus and the rest of previous scientists. His theory of the world stemmed from developments that took place over 28 years in seven-year increments (Ibn Ṭufayl 1150, pg. 128). Hayy understood the world through the basis of the four elements including water, earth, air, and fire. His understanding of the four elements was that they could destroy the other.…

There are three main types of OEC: Gap creationism, progressive creationism, and evolutionary creationism. Gap creationism is the theory that a period of time that could span millions or billions of years existed between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2 (Fairchild, 2014). The theory states that God first created the heavens and the earth, which included prehistoric creatures, before a calamitous event caused all life on Earth to cease. After this event, God recreated the earth from the state found in Genesis 1:2. This theory served to explain the newly-found evidence of expansive geological ages during the 1800s, and would coincide with radiometric dating of fossilized dinosaurs (Fairchild, 2014).…

    M. Alqadhi Dr. Bret Lehmer Investigating the Possible Suggested Binary System of the Cat’s Eye Nebula (NGC 6543) Introduction and Background In 1764, Messier observed an intriguing celestial object that is known today as the Dumbbell Nebula or M27 as Messier named it in his catalogue of unclear nebulous objects. As many other similar objects were observed, astronomer noticed their similarity to the disk of a planet and that explains the reason behind their name, Planetary Nebulae (PNe). However, the nature of these objects stayed mysterious until 1864 when William Huggins was able to obtain the first spectrum of a PN, the Cat’s Eye Nebula. This observation was the first step toward understanding the mysterious nature behind the evolution…

The Co-Formation theory states that the moon and earth were formed around the same time. Evidence has been provided for this theory such as that the moon is composed the same as earth, and its age is close to that of Earth. But there is also heavy proof that can prove this theory wrong. One of the biggest flaws this theory has is that most scientists believe that if the moon was created where it is today, from the same solar nebula the earth came from, the two masses would be incredibly similar.…

“Old-Earth” creationist affirm that the Earth is very old, and that the use of “day” in the Bible actually identifies an age or geological epoch instead of a 24-hour period of time (Bailey 5). Because of the mixture of both science and religion, “old-Earth” creationism would be a scientific biblical approach. The next creationist belief is Theism. A theist believes that God is there to hear our prayers, and intervene to serve His ends, and nothing more.…

Allaboutreligion.org states, “While there are a few similarities between Islam and Christianity, such as a belief in moral living and doing good to others, nevertheless, Muslims and Christians have vastly different views on major points of ideology and theology” (Islam vs. Christianity, 2016). Within this paper, the belief systems of both Islam and Christianity, will be compared and contrasted, as to reveal the more reasonable worldview. According to Islam, Allah created the earth in six days.…

Since the rise of scientific studies, scientists have conducted many experiments that have come to support naturalistic theories through the use of geological or biological terms. For instance, scientific studies have come to explain that the earth was created roughly 5 billion years ago due to gas particles remaining from the creation of the sun, which in turn led to the creation of the universe. Such evidence and propositions have allowed people over time to question their own beliefs in all aspects of life, not just the creation of the universe. David Winter, a writer and devoted Christian, was raised in Orthodox Christian household and is a prime example of one who contemplates his beliefs and considers realistic and rather appealing scientific thought. In one of his famous works, he claims that writers of certain parts of the Bible simply ignored scientific and historical events that are perhaps more realistic than allegorical elements of the Bible: “It is a distortion…of these creation stories to ignore the poetry, shut one’s eyes to the drama and concentrate on the very things that the writer could not possibly have regarded as important: the order of events and the scientific method of creation” (Winter 24).…
