As we have studied the cognitive environments of the ancient Near East, the similarities from corner to corner a extensive spectrum of issues have emerged. The fundamentals, at least, show important homogeneity. Where there are dissimilarity, they emerge due to a number of issue. Some could be the effect of the material environment of Egypt with its Nile, the Levant with its inhospitable mountains, or southern Mesopotamia with its alluvial basin.
