My experience at NDSU this first week has truly been a blast, as well as, one of the scariest things that I have ever done in my life! There have been some things that I have liked, as well as, some that I have disliked. First, I really like the atmosphere and the people here! I really love the fact that as soon as you come to NDSU, it truly feels like a second home. Between all of the fun activities, Bison pride, staff, and fellow classmates, it makes me feel that I have chosen one of the closest knit and caring colleges that feels just like a second family to me. I have also enjoyed the campus food as well as my classes that I am currently taking. I get so excited to go to lunch because every time I go to eat, there is always something delicious on the menu. When I am done eating, all I can think about is when I get to go to supper and have another amazing meal! I am super excited about all of the classes that I am taking this semester! I like the fact that all of them are very informative, teachers are very personable, and I am finally getting to study …show more content…
The registration process was very easy with the help of my awesome advisor Stacey Ostby. She helped me get registered in the classes that I will need to complete in order to apply for the Veterinary Technician program. Mrs. Otsby also made sure that I was taking the correct amount of credits to ensure that I would be able to complete my degree in four years. As I had the expenses adding up for all of my classes, books, and tuition adding up, I soon realized that I would have to find some financial aid to assist in helping me pay for my education. At first, I was very overwhelmed with how I was going to obtain money, but was quickly relieved as I was able to accept FAFSA money, take out a loan at the Bank of North Dakota, and apply scholarships to help me cover my education

In the last five years, I have worked as a CNA, an LVN at a nursing home and clinic, and an RN in the CVICU. All of these experiences have greatly contributed to my solid nursing foundation. As a CNA, I enjoyed the direct interaction and knowing my patients on a personal level. As an LVN, I handled up to 35 patients while supervising the CNAs. I also performed wound care for up to 100 patients when I worked as a Wound Care Nurse.…

After today’s class discussion, I was able to learn new and different ways to take data. It was interesting to see how similar and different recording data can be depending on the goal and disorder. For example, last semester I did not find it as hard to track data for my accent modification client. However, this semester I have changed the way I keep track of data during sessions. My client is working on basic age appropriate sounds mainly because she exhibits a lot of phonological processes.…

Each Welcome Week Leader did a phenomenal job at making myself and other incoming freshman excited about the activities offered and the beginning of our college adventures. For many years I have held Bison Pride and nothing in the past week gave me any reason to doubt my choice college. Along with never feeling disappointed, I was also pleasantly surprised. Throughout high school, we were told that college professors are out to fail their students and don’t truly care how we do in their classes. In reality, they want to provide each of us with a challenge and are very willing to assist those students who are ready to put in the time to…

Throughout this whole quarter, I would say that I have learned a lot in this class. Not only that I learned what is in the syllabus but also the importance of being able to apply my understandings on a problem. I believe that the instructor did a great job in addressing the learning outcomes in this class by helping us in understanding the concepts that we need to learn in order complete this course. One of the learning outcomes of this course is that each students should be able to describe, interpret and predict the propagation of energy via waves, using applied conservation of energy principles. Before this class, I have learned about the law of conservation of energy in PHYS221 with Micheal Greiner.…

“My Day at the FGCU Campus” Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) offers many things besides just schooling. They offer a sustainable way of life and allow its students to become one with nature. Some highlights within the campus are a wide variety of ecosystems including the Food Forest, nature trails, and lakes. My favorite sustainable feature that FGCU offers is the Food Forest.…

In the Spring of 2016 when I took WRTG 101, I terrified of failing. Before taking WRTG 101, I would always struggle with writing. This class has taught me many important and essential techniques to be successful in my writing career. Considering that Spanish is my first language, reading and writing are a weakness of mine. I have always been afraid of attending an English class for the simple fact of having to write essays.…

My first semester at Texas A&M made me realize how quickly time transgresses. As a student that came in with an abundant amount of hours to the university, I feel that each day I spend in class is invaluable. With the credit hours I came in with, I am set to graduate in the Spring of 2018. Knowing that my time on campus is much shorter than other students, I find each day a valuable experience and memory. Academically, I feel at ease since I came in with much experience in rigorous courses and have always been a disciplined student.…

I graduated in May 2016 and was very proud of myself for accomplishing this achievement. SOC 400 has been a very interesting class. I have learned several things from the text as well as from the discussion posts with classmates. The first thing that really surprised me was the tone in text towards management. From chapter 1’s description of the history of worker exploitation, chapter 3 talking about bullying by supervisors, and chapter 5 talking about work overload among new grads, I thought the text painted a very negative picture of management’s role in the sociology of the workplace. As I am going to school to hopefully be one of those managers in the future, this is rather discouraging to know I will be considered the bad guy of the workplace.…
