Nc State Diversity Analysis

The diversity at NC State is one of the many reasons that draws me to the University. I look forward to meeting the vast array of individuals who all unite as one in the Wolfpack. Diversity will allow me to understand different people for who they are, not how they are presented in the media and popular culture. Different viewpoints, languages, ethnic groups, and nationalities are just a few of the things I hope to experience at NC State. I find it important to create acquaintances from various backgrounds in order to unite ourselves as fellow humans, regardless of where we were born or what language we speak. Additionally, while at NC State my background and beliefs will add to the vibrant array on the campus. While at NC State, I plan to

The United States was founded upon the principle of democracy. In fact, the binding behind all aspects of American government is an important document known as the Constitution of the United States of America that states all policies and principles necessary in order to structure a democratic governmental system. Democracy can be summed up by one important phrase present in the United States Constitution: “We the people…” and when the people change, political structure and policy must adjust to meet the needs of an increasingly diversified population (“The Constitution of the United States” 3). One state which exemplifies a rapid diversifying of a population is the southern states of Texas. Texas has long since been a state known for its diversity,…

How can belonging and participating within a diverse community aid in the development of your academic, social and career goals? I usually enjoy starting my papers of with my name Taylor Andrews, what I’m entering for, the battle royal for everything, and my level a EKU JR, and arrogantly but rightly deserves it. Then I would give a generic merriam-webster dictionary for diversity; the quality or state of having many different forms, types, ideas, etc, and then give my view. You may not agree but still feel as if EKU has a large way to go compared to Rutgers University in NJ with a diversity. Diversity plus Eastern Kentucky University is supposed to equal melting pot, but I have not seen this diverse world clearly.…

My residential community has had a great impact on me. The community provides an ideal atmosphere to meet a variety of people. Not only does the residential community promote diversity and inclusion, but it has also granted me the unique opportunity of leading in a college atmosphere. After arriving at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, I started spending most of my time in the lobby because my room did not have air conditioning. While in the lobby, I met a racially and geographically diverse group of people.…

Diversity is a driving force of the world today, and immigration leads to this diversity. People from different parts of world move to various countries for a better life or simply better lifestyle. How can our government be benign if we depend from it as much as it depends from us, the citizens? I don’t think it would be a good idea to aggravate the general population that in a way has much more power than the government it self. I feel like if there would be a day were the government would take advantage of its people, then that would be the day when the people of this country would stand against its government. In any matters where the people feel aggravated by its government am pretty sure the people will have a solution, and if that solution is to overwrite the way our government works then we shall do it. But talking about how or government treats us is very pleasant compared to other countries that only utilize they’re citizens to exploited them in hard labor…

I am so excited for the opportunity to share in this most diverse campus at NC State! Being a student at NC State, I would both benefit from and contribute to campus diversity. Having a large population of people of color, Los Angeles has been a site of racial tensions between Latinos and Blacks. In the mid-2000’s, there was a conflict between two street gangs. Florencia 13, which is a Latino gang, and East Crips, which is a black gang, had a street war over having control of the drug trade in Florence and Firestone, this later became seen as a racial war between both gangs (Quinones, 2007). Marking and respecting territory have been societal factors that tend to fuel tension between both races. I completed my undergraduate degree at the California State University of Los Angeles (CSULA), which is a very diverse campus as well.…
