William Golding was born on September 19, 1911 in England. He was a british novel writer and began his career at an early age. He tried to write a novel aged 12 but his parents was not comfortable with it, they wanted him to study natural science. He did that until his second year at university. He got interested in literature and made it an profession. The year after England entered World war II, Golding decided to join the Royal Navy where he participated in the offensive of Normandy.
In 1954, Golding published a very famous novel, Lord of the flies. The novel focus on a group of young schoolboys trapped on an island trying to survive ,after their plane unluckily crashed after it got shot down. The novel is based on Goldings mindset and

Himself said that he enjoyed hurting other people, in this case other kids at school. This same scenario is used in lord of the flies where other kids bully each other such as Piggy. Piggy got bullied a lot. William Golding said that he is a sort of nature that always have enjoyed nazis. As we know nazis are known as a group of people with power. In the book Jack and his hunters share similar aspect to the nazis in the way they use their power and create a scapegoat, meaning a person or a object who get all the blame for something. Goldings thoughts and methods of hurting other people illustrate the same in the book, when the older kids(biguns) planned how to hurt other. Another similarity is that in the novel the little kids(littluns) were scared to be alone in the night because it was dark then. Golding was also scared of being alone in the night. This fear encourage the other boys and beast to be more ratched, dumb and savage against the other kids. Rationalism is a belief of how the world can be understood. This vary from person to person. As many other, Goldings father had an view on rationalism which Golding unliked and used to mock. Golding used rationalism through the character Piggy: when Piggy got killed by the hunters.
