Navi urLife is the ultimate guide to the lifestyle in Waterloo Region. The new mapping app -- Navi urLife will target on people who are new to Waterloo Region (i.e. first-year students, immigrants, business representatives and visitors). According to administration offices of UW and Laurier, there are 10,750 first-year students coming to Waterloo every year (…). Also, Waterloo is one of the top five best places for new immigrants to live. It is predicted by Statistics Canada that “the proportion of immigrants will increase to 25% of the total population in 2016”(…). The app will add value to businesses because a rich profile will be created and attractive deals or events can promote them in the digital marketing platform, which they will definitely get more customers and revenue. Value will also be added to customers because they can access all information of a business by one tap instead of searching on browse, which saves a lot of time. Later on, customers will be provided with digital membership card and pre-ordering service. Although there is only one entry point at first, the app will be launched on other platforms later. Since it is a mobile app, it does not require loads of instructions compared to a physical product. All required information of the app will be provided in the description box on Apple Store. In order to promote the app and attract more users, the new app will be introduced to Students Association and social media.
The revenue at first will grow really slow, but when more users and businesses get on the app, the revenue will grow exponentially. The app will not only provide detailed businesses’ information, but also personalized digital membership card and special promotions. It is easy for this app to enter the market because there’s a low entry barrier with few competitors and low money needed to invest. To get on Apple Store, 99 USD per membership year is needed (…).
