Why the Naval Academy? I can unequivocally say that graduating from the Naval Academy has been my dream, goal, motivation for as long as I can remember. I’ve done the research; worked with my High School Administration and Guidance office to plan my High School career around being excepted to the Naval Academies Nuclear Engineering Program. In doing so, I've held multiple leadership positions throughout High School; classroom (ranked in the top 10 percent of my graduating class), clubs (member of the Deland’s Inner-Club-Council, Vice President of the Key Club for 2 consecutive years, member of the National Honor Society , member of the Deland School of Government , sports (4 year Varsity Weightlifting member, Weightlifting Team Captain (2 All-Conference Championship Awards), and a having a part-time job during the school year and a fulltime job during the summer. I grew up in a military family, I was able to see the sacrifices my father made to support our country. He would often miss holidays, birthdays, etc.., but knowing this didn’t deter me from my goal; it made me want it more. My family was different then my friends, I learned about core values: honor, courage, and commitment. I was taught that serving our nation is an honor and privilege.
