Since leaving the reservation for the first time since born, you began to realize the different cultures Native Americans live by compared to other races. Like the town of Greenville, a small community that population is around 5,000 without the prison population. A town with no more than 5 streetlights, small businesses, and fastfood or family owned restaurants is basically the town of Greenville. However, it is a wonderful community, houses are in great and sturdy condition for families to live in, the road condition throughout the town is is smooth, and you can plan on seeing majority of the town on Sunday at the numerous of …show more content…
One subject for example is the education system as the Navajo Nation is “below-average” in education within their states it lies in. This plays an impact for students who move forward with their education, because they are not up to speed with the change from high school to college. Another difference is how serious the nation takes basketball as school has managed to find money to build areas to host games that can seat the whole community, as the Navajo Nation has two of the largest basketball gyms in America. One being in my hometown of Fort Defiance and the other in Chinle both in Arizona. Another aspect I recognized is how the communities are made because in Greenville the house and business are all close to one another, as compared to the Nation the community is more spread apart from one
