Nautilus Research Paper

Use the Nautilus as an example of how scientific technology can be both good and bad. Cite modern day examples as well, such as stem cell research or nuclear technology. Should there be regulations to curb what scientists study and how they apply their discoveries to everyday life? There are many, many different types of scientific technologies; and not all of them can be good. To contradict, not all scientific technologies can be bad. In actuality, most of them are good, but can also be bad. Take the Nautilus for example. The Nautilus is not a tangible thing on the Earth. Instead, it is a scientific technology in the book Twenty Thousand Leagues under the Sea. The Nautilus was a submarine capable of many nonrealistic things during the time that it was being written about. It was able to go anywhere in the ocean, anywhere! Stem cell technology can be good because it can save people from diseases that they have or may have in the future. Not only does it save people from diseases, but it also can make a baby the way that the parents would like it to look like. If a baby has stem cell activity done to it, the parents could choose how they want their baby to look. They could decide on the baby having blond hair and blue eyes, or orange hair and blue eyes. This may seem like a good thing because a baby could be made to look the way that the parents of it would want it to look like. It could be the best looking baby that a couple has ever imagined having. Although this may seem nice, it is not Christian-like. God does not want people to change the way that he made them. In this case, He does not want people to change the way that He plans to make someone look like. This would be considered a sin.
