Kendra Cherry in What is Nature vs. Nurture “ The experiences that parents and other caregivers provide during the earliest years of a child’s life can be some of the most crucial.” What kind of care a child receives from a parent or caregiver will affect the child later on in life. If a child is raised in a nurturing environment it makes them feel more secure, confident and are capable of dealing with later challenges, on the other hand kids raised in a less nurturing environment feel anxious and unable to cope with life’s difficulties. The way you raise your child moldes their personality more than nature. In conclusion a nurturing environment or less nurturing environment both have their effects on a child’s behavior on both negative or positive …show more content…
Kendra Cherry states in What is Nature vs. Nurture “High-income parents might be more concerned with getting their kids into the best private schools, while low-income parents spend more time worrying about whether their children’s most basic needs are met.” If someone is raised in a low-income family and they get the chance to go to the best private school their family will most likely turn the offer down even though they know it would be best for their kids they don’t have enough money they would rather spend less money on meeting their child’s basic needs. Later on in life that child that was born in a low-income family had their own family and their child gets the chance to go to the best private school they might take the offer because as a child they didn’t get to experience it so they want that for their kids, or they won’t take the offer because as a child they learned it is better to spend money on what you rather than something you want. Therefore being born in a low-income or high-income will later on have an affect on your child’s decision with their families financial decision

Nature's Truth The Nature vs. Nurture is the most common debatable subject in Psychology. Like whether personality is a nature or a nurture thing. I personally think that nature is the biggest predictor of personality and behaviour. And it refers to the range of traits, capacities and limitations that each person inherits genes from his or her parents at the moment of conception such as pigmentation of the skin, eye colour, body type, diseases, athletic ability, memory and etc. But some traits have a stronger tendency to get passed down like height and weight unlike shyness and intelligence which have some tendency to get passed down.…

Being that nurture means “care for and encourage the growth or development,” and nature means the basic or inherent features of something, especially when seen as characteristic of it. With that being said, i believe that both of them are just as important as the other because one teaches growth and development, while the other is inheriting features of something. They both go hand and hand because some kids inherit bad habits and the other one would be teaching the child that it is wrong . For example some kids hear their parents fighting and cussing so they think that it is okay to do but if you turn around and tell them that it's not okay they will hopefully learn but just like the kid the parents have to learn if there gonna fight…

Biology Has More to Say about Sexuality than People Do The most fundamental question of psychology is whether or not behaviors and characteristics are a result of our genetics or the conditions our body is put in after birth. This nature versus nurture debate is far from being settled and forms the foundation of most behavioral studies. A common behavior studied is homosexuality, defined as, “love, desire, and/or sexual acts between people of the same sex” (Roof).…

Nurturance or the ability to nurture is a trait that we as people believe most of us have inside of us to some degree. Nature versus nurture has been the long standing debate in regards to this trait questioning if one is better than the other or if there is really any significant difference. Nurturing as a trait is just one part of that debate with which needs to be studied in its own right to understand it fully before making that debate or any other on how nurturing an individual may or may not be. To understand it, it is a matter of analyzing factors of individuals such as the levels of nurturance among a person, how does one arrive at an individual perception of nurturing and what does it means in regards to their personality and relationships.…

The nurture theory holds onto the environmental influences as the real origins of an individual’s behavior and personality. Environmental influences include conditioning to encourage a desired behavior from a child or to destroy an undesirable behavior being illustrated by said child. According to John Watson, a psychologist who has suggested that environmental learning is an important governing factor used during the nature vs. nurture debate, has once said he could train an infant chosen at random from a small group, and teach the child to become the type of specialist he wants. Watson declared “that regardless of the infant’s abilities or genes the child could become whatever he insisted, through sheer conditioning”.…

Orphanages and foster care are both terms that are frequently thrown around interchangeably, but in fact, they both describe two different methods of child care. An orphanage is an institution that is regulated by the state and federal government. This institution, where children live, is supervised by an adult staff and the needs for food, shelter, and medical care are taken care of by the institution. The foster care system or foster home is a home where children are placed temporarily due to an emergency in their biological family. All foster parents and foster homes are screened by an agency.…

The debate of nature and nurture is a hard debate, you have to choose between your genetics or the environment(s) you live in. As in my second paragraph, nature is how you act from your genetics, not from how you are raised. Then nurture is how your parents chose to raise you, they chose whether they beat you or treat you like you are the most popular kid in the world. Now next time you catch yourself acting like your mom or dad, blame nurture, from your parents raising you the same way they…
