Religious affiliation has a lot of gravity in how one lives their life. All religion provides standard moral guidelines by which to live, and would likely effect the decisions of an individual, depending on their beliefs. An example of how religion affects one’s personality traits can be found in an experiment done at Islamic Azad University. Written about in the Iranian Journal of Psychiatry, by Gholamreza Khoynezhad, the experiment involved students divulging their personal information for the study of how religion and personality coincide. The results of this observation proved that those who had religious affiliation, and those who did not, were linked with five different personality types, which were assigned according to what they believed (Khoynezhad). Though many fear getting in this argument, gender must be included because of basic science. Due to differing body chemistry, physical differences, and roles of gender in society, the sex of a person has a verdict in how a person lives his or her life (Elmhorst et. al. 278-279). Another source detailing how gender affects a person comes from an article labeled, “Gender Differences in Personality Are Larger than Previously Thought”, by Dario Maestripieri in Psychology Today, where it explains the differences between male and female characteristics, such as different emotional stabilities.
