Parent’s past experiences can affect a child's behavior. A child’s behavior is determined by not just nature but also nurture.. We know that nature and nurture are both key factors in how a child behaves, but we don’t know which one influences us more. A child’s behavior can be predicted by parent’s genes ,but it also has to do with the examples of behavior they see around them. In the article we read, by Kendra Cherry, called “What is Nature Versus Nurture?’, we are introduced to the idea that we are influenced by both nature and nurture. What exactly is nature? Nature is referring to our genetic makeup that we have received from our parents. We inherit our physical and our personality characteristics from our parents. It is still undetermined if our intelligence, sexual orientation, and likes or dislikes are coded in our DNA.

In the article “Empiricists” are advocates for nurture. They believe all behavior and choices come from learning, and that we can be trained to do anything no matter our genetic makeup. A good example this was, Albert Bandura’s Bobo doll experiment.This experiment proved that children are taught aggression by observing someone else’s behavior.
