Nature Vs. Nurture Debate

“We may not be responsible for the world that created our minds, but we can take responsibility for the mind with which we create our world.” -Gabor Mate. Nature versus nurture is a long-standing debate regarding whether we are shaped by our genetics or by our surroundings. The discussion began back with the Greek philosophers Plato and Aristotle. Plato believed that we are born with some character and intelligence while Aristotle thought that we were born as a blank slate and are shaped by the world. The debate is still going on today and is still unresolved.
One way psychologists are trying to resolve nature versus nurture is by studying twins who were separated at birth and seeing how they are alike and different. One of these tests was
