What is nurture? The debate over nature vs nurture has been a philosophical issues within psychology for many years. Nature credits genetic factors for influencing who we are/become ,while nurture attributes the environmental components. Nurture entails our early childhood experiences, how we are raised, personal and social relationships, and culture (Cherry,2009). Nativists are those that believe all or most behaviors and characteristics are the result of genetics/predisposition. This is the extreme side of nature vs nurture.
