If the slight is minor, it is suggested that it should be ignored since the consequences of taking revenge for such a small nuisance often are outweighed by the consequences and the energy that must be used in order to achieve suitable revenge unless the opportunity for revenge presents itself. An example of such is if one is if one is slighted in conversation with an acquaintance but finds no opportunity to return such slight in the conversation. The slighted should not go out of his or her way to return such a slight but should merely wait till they are in conversation with this person again to return such a slight or should simply forget the slight. Revenge should be thought of as a response to the actions of others and should be avoided as a result of a persons own actions.
It is not difficult to accomplish revenge that is momentarily satisfactory, but it is often difficult to find revenge that is utterly pleasing.
