Whilst the nature-nurture debate may seem out dated and revisited, it shows that there is a shared assumption and belief that there are inherent differences between men and women showing that zombie ideas will ever remain supporting the status quo. More importantly all arguments show that men are always the more dominant gender type. All theories suggest that we are assigned gender roles based on our biological sex, regardless of whether it is through socialisation, genetic determination or a combination of both. Interestingly, however, the fa'afafine call the debate into question again offering a perfect example of how nature and nurture cannot be separated, as they will always remain mutually exclusive.
