Firstly, nature is the unchangeable. It is the elements of us that we are born with and sets us up for a certain path in life. A person’s genetic makeup, from a biological standpoint, defines everything about that person. These are the elements we cannot change about ourselves, such as having a certain hair or eye color.
Nurture on the other hand, is the environment a person grows up in. This environment is full of social influences brought upon us such as education, culture, gender norms, and relationships. An example of nurture having an effect on someone’s traits would be someone developing an athletic trait after being encouraged by family to participate in sports.

I am the only version of myself, as there is no one with the same genetic makeup as me. My experience with nurture is affected by what traits I was given at conception. I was born female, and I have gone through life with the gendered norm for my sex. This is an example of how nature has impacted me, however because of my environment, my views on being a woman are widely different than if I were a man trying to relate to the life of a woman. I will never be able to truly understand how a man goes about life as society treats men and women differently because of preconceived gender roles. There are major elements of me, like my sex, that was decided at conception. However, there are traits that I did not gain from conception, such as my shyness or diligent personality type.
