The wealthy and well-to-do taking up 83 percent of Congress in H.H., NY, NJ, and taking up 88 percent of congress in MD, VA, and S.C, shows a lack of voice through political representation of only the wealthy. Lack of voice can create a world where no one's problems are heard and not a single person knows what's happening around them. Voice is being able to speak one’s opinion without fear of persecution, having the ability to participate in government, and to inform others of news concerning oneself, the country and society.
Having the ability to speak one's opinion is necessary in society so that those in charge can take into consideration their position of issues and make the issues more well known. In her letter to her

She speaks her opinion, to her husband John, who was serving as the Massachusetts representative to the Continental Congress in Philadelphia, that men should let go of their egos and let women add to conversations about the new country. If her opinion was taken into more consideration, women would have contributed to the new country, gained more rights, and there would be less of a division between the sexes today. Benjamin Franklin also spoke his opinion in, “ With Remarks Concerning the Savages of North America” when he said, “If a white Man in travelling thro’ our Country, enters one of our Cabins, we all treat him as I treat you; we dry him if he is wet, we warm him if he is cold, we give him Meat & Drinks that he may allay his Thirst and Hunger, and spread soft Furs for him to rest and sleep on: We demand nothing in return. In, “ A Kind of Revolution a man named Plough Jogger informs others of what is happening to him when he says, “ I have been greatly abused… been pulled and hauled by sheriffs, constables, and collectors, and had my cattle sold for less than they were worth.” Jogger using his voice is able to inform people of the outrageous and unjust treatment he is receiving. Benjamin Franklin used his voice in a different way to inform people what it’s like to move to America in his, “ To Those who would wish to Remove to America” in which he states, “ that though there are in that Country few People so miserable as the Poor of Europe, there are also very few that in Europe would be called rich; it is rather a general happy Mediocrity that prevails.” Here Franklin uses his voice to inform people who would want to move to America and become rich that that won’t happen, but that they are ok with that because there are few poor and few rich. By informing others of serious issues one is able to get others to act more just and to obey the rules and norms set out to them in order to help society and let others know the issues and topics surrounding
