Introduction
Today me and my partner Brent will be talking about the North Atlantic treaty organization also known as NATO and we will speak about their involvement in the Syrian Crisis and how it ultimately affected the current situation in Syria .NATO was founded on April the 4th, 1949 to serve three purposes, deterring soviet expansion, forbidding nationalist revival in Europe through strong North American Presence and encouraging European political integration.
Which groups are they supporting/opposing? Why?
NATO is a collective belligerent support that opposes a number of different factions fighting in the Syrian civil war, however this is largely dependent upon individual member states.

Turkey, a NATO member with the second largest army in the alliance did not participate in international airstrikes against ISIS until September of 2014.

NATO has played a big part in the international response, gaining cooperation on the matter from different nations.

NATO has deployed forces to the Aegean Sea in order to stem illegal trafficking and migration caused by conflict and instability on NATO’s southern borders.
What evidence is there of their involvement in the crisis? What are the implications of their involvement?
Evidence of their involvement can be found on NATO’s website or have been publically stated. Implications include stemming illegal migration and trafficking while providing a robust border protection role. The involvement of NATO member states in the Syrian civil war however has likely prolonged the war and created the situation Europe is facing, in regards to the current refugee crisis.
