The native speaker that I interviewed for the audio project in Spanish 2002 was born and raised in the United States. His parents were in the United States military and they originated from Puerto Rico. Although he is an American, Spanish was the primary language spoken in his early childhood environment. He is also a language translator for his company of employment. I was able to interview the speaker because he is married to my Uncle’s sister. The speaker’s wife is a Caucasian American, therefore, English is the language that he speaks around his family. During the interview, I noticed that he hesitated before making statements to recall the articulation of certain phrases. Additionally, there were some uses of verbs and prepositions that
