I am writing to you regarding the wonderful internship opportunity at the non-profit organization, the National Urban League. I am a third-year student at Seton Hall University doubling majoring in History and Economics. I want to help others. These simple, yet powerful words became more important to me as I became more aware of life growing up in an urban area. Maybe, instead of uses the difficulties of my life as an excuse, I will try to not only improve my life, but others as well. Although, others might want in earnest to help others, their actions speak louder than their words. If everyone were to help each other, then, our nation will become more prosperous and beneficial for all. Unfortunately, that is not the case, which is why a well-respected …show more content…
I have the skills and experience needed to be a successful intern at the National Urban League Internship Program – a balance on leadership, research, communication and a quick mind. Both my professional and academic skills are a great match for the National Urban League. As a commuter student who takes an 18-credit course load each semester, I have retained a high GPA. It did not me from being involved in my university as well. As a former Student Government Association senator for the College of Arts and Sciences and Academic Affairs Chairman, I know what it takes in researching for new initiatives and successfully implementing them, leading to beneficial changes for undergraduate students. With that being said, as I learned to become a better leader as I went through several setbacks, ultimately, I continued pushing forward new ideas. I won one of the Rising Star awards at Seton Hall University’s Annual Leadership Awards. While awards do not motivate me more, than my passion for my work, however, it does let me know that I am on the right path. In all, by bringing my experience to the National Urban League, I can help the organization become even

There is, after all, more than a single person in world, and so long as that remains true, it is our duty to help one other. We are to feel compassion towards our neighbor and be a good Samaritan (Luke 10). It is our conscientious duty to help one another when the need is there. It always has been, is and will be that way until we leave this beautiful planet behind as a species. This provides the best outcome for the most amount of people.…

A Reflection: The Television Academy Internship After the exciting phone calls and making plans for my trip to Los Angeles, and finally driving across the country, it was time for me to begin my production management internship at the Television Academy and at 25/7 Productions. When I arrived for my first day, the first thing that my host, Richard, said to me was, “You remember in Star Wars when they have to shoot the missiles into the super small hole in the Death Star? Well, think of the Death Star as Los Angeles and this internship as the hole. You just found your way into the industry.” For a college student from a small town in the middle of nowhere, this is really something to swallow.…

New Orleans has been voted the number one location for creative professionals to thrive. As an aspiring writer, I was immediately drawn to this. The city is a hub for diversity–a potpourri of different societies, including influences from French, Spanish, African, Vietnamese, and Indian culture. A blend of Renaissance-era architecture and Romanesque semi-circular arches, Tulane's campus buildings themselves serve as a representation of the surrounding area's diverse history. The campus' appearance is a reflection of the student body's heterogeneity–a student body I desire to be a part of.…

Receiving an invitation to apply to the highly acclaimed Executive High School Internship Program was the beginning to an invaluable learning opportunity, allowing me to expand my skill set beyond my fellow high school students, and gain a bold competitive advantage. I was applying for a highly selective internship with the Colorado School of Mines, where I would be afforded many opportunities that most Undergraduate students are not privy to. During the days leading up to my interview, I requested assistance from teachers who were willing to offer me advice regarding the dynamics within a group interview and the most effective techniques to answer questions thoughtfully and efficiently. I deemed these wise words infinitely important and was mindful about how I would execute each strategy to depict my dedication to earning success in every aspect of my life. Leaving me to wrestle with my emotions as they swelled with bursts of anxiety and were whisked away by waves of confidence.…

    Summer Internship Essay

At the start of my summer internship, the company took us on a tour of the facilities. One of the main points of the tour is their new Life fitness center on the campus. This tour happened at about eleven in the morning and there were people taking work out classes, running on the track, and working out in the gym. The question I posed for this situation was, how do larger companies try to encourage a more healthy work environment and lifestyle? As well as, how do people respond to having free time in their work schedule to be active instead of working at a desk all day?…

As spring semester draws to a close each year, college kids begin to plan for their long summer months off. Through the course of my internship I feel I have become more confident in my career path. I have found that unlike many of the options I have focused on in the past teaching and working with children day after day is something that I do not tire of, in fact I find myself constantly enjoying it. My worldview seems to be unchanged, the impact of my internship seems to be been a more personal one. With that in mind I am able to look at my value set once again and reassess what I found to be true about myself in the beginning of the semester. It’s not how my values changed over the course of time, but more so how my time at the internship has changed how I feel I can apply my values in this new setting.…
