Suicide is considered the unpardonable sin because one is throwing away their life, which is considered the most precious and sacred gift God could bestow. The idea is that God gave life; therefore, he is the only one who can take it away. Since suicide is considered the ultimate insult to the Creator, the likelihood of redemption is very slim. The real issue is not with suicide however; it is with the idea that females can womanize themselves to death. To womanize, by definition, is to pursue multiple relationships with female partners. To womanize oneself to death is to claim not only that women would die should a man choose to give his affections to another woman, but to claim that we, as women, choose to put ourselves in those situations. In an article posted the Journal of Men’s Studies on the psychological, relational, and sexual effects of pornography use on young adult heterosexual men in romantic relationships, researchers state that the, “findings revealed that both frequency of pornography use and problematic pornography use were related to greater gender role conflict, more avoidant and anxious attachment styles, poorer relationship quality, and less sexual satisfaction” (Szymanski). Intensity of pornography use shows many correlations between the negative effects on heterosexual relationships. I believe it is because pornography paints unrealistic pictures of intimate relationships. It creates greater gender role conflict because it sets unrealistic standards and expectations of both men and women because we seem to forget that pornography is simply acting and that these people are being paid to exaggerate everything. Both the inequality it perpetuates and the unrealistic standards it sets, ultimately lead to the poorer quality of relationships. Finally, it lowers one’s sexual satisfaction because the actual sex is never as exciting as it is in the movies; real life sex has a hard time living up to our unrealistic expectations, as they've been defined by
