The national security agency is something that is very important and vital for not only our security and also our countries security as well. The NSA otherwise known as the National Security Agency is set up to take all precautions when it comes to our citizen’s security they protect our lives, protect our privacy rights and further more technology is very important to the NSA as well. The NSA believes in using technology because it can help them detect security risk that they may not catch without using technology. “NSA is the world leader in cryptology - the art and science of making and breaking codes. It is this expertise- from our people and technology- that allows us to accomplish the goals of discovering adversaries' secrets, protecting U.S. secrets, and outmaneuvering our adversaries in cyberspace while at the same time protecting the privacy rights of the American people” …show more content…
They do research on how technology affects us they explore how technology can also be a hinder to the national security as well. The Center for a New American Security tracks trends of how technology can either help us or make our security at worse risk “The Technology and National Security program explores the nexus of strategy, technology, and business in a national security context. The rapid paces of technological change and increasing proliferation of advanced technology present opportunities and challenges to U.S. national security. Effective innovation will be the key factor determining whether the national security institutions benefit or suffer from these trends. The program develops practical ideas to help leaders in government and industry maintain U.S. technological advantages” (CNAS.ORG). Another reason why technology is so important to us on a daily level is because of our local government. Our local government needs to keep files and records on file for their local citizens and for other government matters. Local governments are able to fight cyber crime with technology the local police much like the NSA are able to track cyber crime further more as technology has increased its practicalities so have the cyber threats “we have seen more than a quarter of a million different ransomware variants over the past year, with as many as 60,000 new variants in a single day”
