A battlefield in a nameless county has troops fighting on both sides. One side is the United States of America, holding the banner freedom for all in its grasp. Shots from both sides are being fired and bombs pinpoint on their intended location, all the while a man is down below fighting simply because he was told to. This man will die on this battlefield as a United States soldier fighting for people he has never seen. He has a wife and kids, his son graduating high school looking to be just like him and a daughter just now entering in the fourth grade. The National Priorities Project’s mission is to inspire individuals to take action so that the federal resources prioritizes peace, prosperity, and economic safety. In this mission they have the National Priorities Project reports that North Carolina could “fund all in-state expenses of a four-year education for each incoming freshman class for the next 95 years” (NPP). The number of dollars that is is roughly $31 billion dollars that North Carolina as given in the war effort that it could easily use for paying students to go to school and get the education they deserve so that they can get a job and be financially stable. If the war continues those new taxpayers won't have money to pay for basic needs because “Every hour, taxpayers in the United States are paying $8.36 million for Total Cost of War Since 2001”(NPP). If you want to see that big waste of money her it is $1,748,004,600,479 and climbing at a rapid rate. This goes to show how much military action wastes in money when there are much more cost effective ways of dealing with the problem then firing
