National Junior Honor Society has been a dream for me over the course of my school career. However, I never thought I’d be able to make it come true. During my life I’ve seen notable examples of leadership, scholarship, service, citizenship, and character in this world and they’ve influenced me as a person and through NJHS I can make each of these pillars more of a part of my life. Leadership, to me, is being someone anyone can look up to. You don’t have to be the strongest, or the smartest, or any of those. You just need to be someone anyone can get advice and motivation from, and I think I fit that definition quite well. I’m always there for others inside of school and out, and whenever someone’s having a bad time I try to help in any way possible and I expect that from others as well. I hope I can develop more leadership skills if I am accepted into NJHS.

I have maintained not only good grades, but also good relationships with my fellow students and my teachers. I try not to bother the teachers, whose job is to help me learn so I can have a career, and I try to socialize with others so then I can help them learn as well. I know I can only keep improving and by being in NJHS it’ll help me help others, which is something I value.
Service is something I’d like more opportunities for. It makes me happy whenever I can help someone else. I’ve had many experiences with service in my life, including times where I’d go to Bailey Place, a senior center and interact with those there, or when I’m helping my parents by taking care of my sister for them. Whatever it may be, as long as I’m helping I don’t need a reward, the true reward is the happiness you get when you make someone’s day by being there for
