NIBIN
The National Integrated Ballistic Information Network( NIBIN) is kinda like a fingerprint database for guns. Whenever bullets, cartridges, or guns are found at a crime scene they are recorded into the database. They use ballistic imaging technology to compare guns, ammo, etc. used in crimes. The new technology allows authorities to link evidence and clues quicker, and more efficient, and helps avoid losing evidence. ATF established and started administrating the NIBIN in 1999.

The Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System (IAFIS) is a national automated fingerprint identification and criminal history system maintained by the FBI.
