National Infrastructure Protection Plan

Almost every critical infrastructure is owned by private agencies. Since these agencies is in charge of our economy sustainable resources, the government have created partnership with them to ensure their safety and well being of the sources they provide to the United States. Most private owners hired private security agencies while others used private security agencies. Private security agencies protect and ensure the safety of the facilities they are assigned to including the worker and customer of that facility. Public law enforcement agencies work with private security companies by assisting them detaining and processing violators. Public-private partnerships are “effective for critical infrastructure protection and resilience strategies, and that timely, trusted information sharing among stakeholders is essential to the security of the nation’s critical infrastructure” (Homeland Security, 2006).

The National Infrastructure Protection Plan (NIPP) creates a plan that that allows a partnership in protecting the critical infrastructure between federal, state, regional, local, tribal, territorial, and international governments to work with each other and …show more content…
PPD-21 gives each level of government sectors responsibilities to provide security to the critical infrastructures. The Federal government is responsible for strengthening the security and resilience of its own critical infrastructure and security and resilience efforts of critical infrastructure owners and operators (Presidential Policy Directive, 2013). Private sectors will abide by the federal government guidelines in protecting critical infrastructure. With both private and public sector working together, they can reduce vulnerabilities, minimize consequences, identify and get rid of risk/threats, and respond to crisis and recovery missions
