A Day with a President The president of the United States is a powerful and important position to fulfill. Past presidents of the United States have many interesting facts that occurred while in office. A president that America viewed as one of the greatest presidents was Ronald Reagan. Ronald Reagan, the 40th president of the United States, is a president that one would choose to spend a day. Ronald Reagan would be the best president from the past to spend a day with for the following reasons: to eat jelly beans, feed squirrels, and create days such as National Ice Cream Day. First, a reason to spend the day with Ronald Reagan is to eat jelly beans. Ronald Reagan, even while holding the title as President of the United States, enjoyed jelly beans and kept jars distributed throughout the White House. Ronald Reagan’s favorite flavor of jelly bean was licorice. Ronald Reagan’s favorite brand of jelly beans was Jelly Bellies. Working and eating jelly beans makes a work day more enjoyable. Ice cream is a favorite of most people. National Ice Cream Day was created by Ronald Reagan in July of 1984. National Ice Cream Day is celebrated the third Sunday of July yearly. Spending a day with Ronald Reagan and creating another national day such as National Cheesecake Day would be ideal. For one to experience the ability to create a national day, and to write a declaration for such a day would be a dream. Spending a day with a president would be a great experience. The United States has had presidents with many different backgrounds, but Ronald Reagan would be a great president to spend the day with. Ronald Reagan is a legacy of many Americans for reshaping the economy.
