National Honors Society

The National Honors Society defines what it means to serve the student body as well as the community. As a student athlete in the Sutton school system leadership, service, character and scholarship have impacted my very way of life. Having a persistent attitude is what makes a student shine and as a prospective candidate for NHS I will incorporate this quality into each of the four pillars improving the society as a whole. Three years ago I began the NHS application process though I had little experience in volunteering for the community and lacked the opportunity to develop myself as a leader this changed as my high school career went on. Through athletics and long hours of volunteering with the town's technology department has provided me with numerous opportunities as high school went on. Becoming a member of the NHS not only will add to my leadership skills but help expand the skills of those who are already admitted. As a member of the technology department I participate in a wide variety important tasks. The technology department is tasked with handling submitted tickets from all public buildings throughout the town. …show more content…
Forcing me to strive for the highest grade I possible can muster whether that be by participating or studying. Challenging myself at every corner was one way to keep my mind sharp. The courses I have taken not only have educated me, but have better prepared me for how to overcome real life obstacles. I have everything to thank because of education not only has it opened so many doors, but has made me a better person overall. Having a persistent and determined attitude will undoubtedly help improve not only the national honor society, but the student body as a whole. Being a part of the NHS would be an honor and commitment to leadership, character, community service and scholarship, which over time will be tested and improved
